ISLAMABAD, Mar 3 (APP): Pakistan on Monday expressed concern over reports about the decision of Taiwanese authorities concerning cessation of the function of the National Unification Council and application of the National Unification Guidelines.
"The Government of Pakistan fully supports China's principled position on the return of Taiwan to the mainland," a Foreign Office spokesperson said while referring to the February 27 reported decision taken by the Taiwanese authorities.
Pakistan strongly believes that any move aimed at changing this position should be rejected as, the spokesperson added, it will not be in the interest of peace and stability of the region.
"The Government of Pakistan firmly believes that there is one China and that Taiwan is a province of the People's Republic of China," she added.
