The friendship between our peoples precedes the establishment for modern China and Pakistan. Geographical proximity and close civilization interaction over centuries have forged immutable bounds, which have been reinforced during the past 55years by each succeeding generation.

Our all-weather and time-tested friendship has matured into a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace and development.

Linked by common mountains and rivers, our people and also united by common values and shared aspirations. We also remain committed to promoting regional and global peace and stability.

We have in the recent past charted the course for taking our relations to even greater heights in the twenty first century and to reinforce our traditional friendship with a strong and vibrant economic partnership.

We applaud the great national accomplishments of the Chinese nation and are confident that our joint endeavors to promote the socio-economic advancement, build security and bring prosperity for our people and our region will succeed.

On this occasion, I wish to Your Excellency, the Government and people of China even greater progress and prosperity.
