ISLAMABAD, Aug 26 (APP): Pakistan on Tuesday congratulated China on the successful holding of 29th Olympics in Beijing. The Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in a message sent to the Premier of State Council of China Wen Jiabao, on the successful holding of Olympics said, "The people of Pakistan join me in extending their warmest congratulations to the Chinese leadership and people on the successful holding of the 29th Olympiad in Beijing, which will long be remembered as the most splendid sporting event in history."

Prime Minister Gilani said, the Beijing Olympics showcased the manifold achievements of the great Chinese nation and established the excellence of the Chinese Athletes, who topped the Gold Medals' list.

"This is yet another crowning accomplishment and a glorious moment for China. We, in Pakistan, rejoice over your all round accomplishments," he added.

The Prime Minister said, "I was delighted to attend the gala opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics and was most impressed by the magnificence of the event."

He said, "I was indeed very happy to meet your excellency and most satisfied with our talks to further broaden and deepen our comprehensive partnership and time-tested friendship."

The Prime Minister said, "I also wish to convey my profound gratitude to your excellency for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality extended to me and my entourage."
