As per the latest visa application policy and current situation of COVID-19, the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad will optimize visa application requirements from the following aspects from 20 June 2022.
I. Requirements on applicants
A. No visa required
a. Foreign nationals who are qualified with various mutual visa exemption agreements;
b. Foreign nationals holding valid Chinese permanent residence certificates;
c. Foreign nationals holding valid residence permits for work, personal matters, long-term journalists and reunions.
B. Qualified applicants
a. Foreign nationals with diplomatic, official and crew activities purposes can apply for diplomatic, official, courtesy and C visa accordingly.
b. Foreign nationals who come to China for work and production resumption activities (work, business, visit etc.) and their accompanying family members.
c. Family members coming to China for funeral or visiting critically ill relatives, reunion or visiting relatives ("Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, siblings, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.)
II. Requirements on visa application documents
For the basic application process and application documents, please refer to Instructions on application for visa for China. Vaccination Certificate and Health Commitment (on site) are both required for visa application. All applicants must fill in the form online and make an appointment online through the portal cova.mfa.gov.cn in advance. Gerry's visa center only accepts visa applications that have completed the online filling and appointment.
A. For foreign nationals who have been approved by the Chinese domestic competent authorities and have obtained the work permit, invitation letter is not mandatory requirement for applying work (Z) visa.
B. For foreign nationals going to China for resumption of work and production (M, F visas), invitation letter issued by the central government and state organs, central enterprises, foreign affairs and commercial departments of provincial governments, and foreign affairs departments of municipal governments is required.
C. For foreign family members of foreign personnel who come to China for work and production resumption activities (including those who have already been in China) apply for accompanying or visiting relatives in China, S visa can be applied with kinship certificates and other required documents.
D. For foreign family members of Chinese nationals or People’s Republic of China Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card holders who come to China for family reunion or visit purpose, Q visa can be applied with kinship certificates and other required documents.
E. For foreign family members come to China for attending funeral or visiting critically ill relatives’ purposes, death certificate or critical illness notice issued by the hospital, the kinship certificate, the invitation letter of domestic relatives and the copy of the invitee's ID card are required.
III. Processing time
Visa application will generally be feedback within 4-10 working days after submitting visa materials. Time for supplementing materials, verifying the applicant’s individual circumstances, force majeure and other reasons will not be included in processing time. IV. Notes
A. Notice on visa facilitation for applicants who have vaccinated the chinese-made covid-19 vaccines is still valid.
B. Suspension of entry:
a. Holder of a valid visa issued before 26 March 2020;
b. 24/72/144-hour transit visa free;
c. Visa free entry to Hainan province;
d. Visa free entry for Shanghai cruise.
C. Fees will be charged as normal to renew visa with a valid visa issued before 26 March 2020
