On behalf of the Chinese Embassy and myself, I would like to thank all of you for coming over here. As the new Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, a brotherly country with purity and vitality, I am keenly aware of the great responsibility on my shoulder. And I have full confidence to uplift China-Pakistan relations to a higher level.

I have been steeping in the affection towards China since I arrived in Pakistan one month ago. Wherever I go, I can always feel Pakistani friends' deep love for China, firm belief in developing China-Pakistan relations, high expectations for bilateral pragmatical cooperation, and strong support to Chinese embassy and myself. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the friends here who have been caring for and supporting the development of China-Pakistan friendship. Shukria!

Ladies and gentlemen,

China and Pakistan are good neighbors, close friends, trusted partners and dear brothers. During Chinese Premier Li Keqiang's visit to Pakistan in May, he quoted one of Pakistani welcome slogans: "A good neighbor is our blessing." As China and Pakistan are good neighbors with friendship and cooperation, it is a blessing not only for our two peoples, but also for this region.

China-Pakistan good neighborliness is the result of mutual trust and support, equal treatment and sharing weal and woe over the long time. This relationship transcends the changes of time and politics, full of vitality and it is an example of state-to-state relations.

China-Pakistan good neighborliness has been nurtured by generations of the two countries' leaders. They always attach great importance to the consistent enhancement of bilateral relations. Chinese government always gives priority to China-Pakistan relations in its diplomacy. Relations with China remain cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy.

China-Pakistan good neighborliness has based on popular support. Chinese netizens call Pakistan by the endearing name of "Iron Pak", which means Pakistan is a friend as solid as iron.We are also deeply moved by the fact that Pakistani friends have nationwide consensus on being friendly to China.

China-Pakistan special friendship is a valuable asset shared by the two countries. As the ancient Chinese saying goes, "drinking the water of a well, one should never forget who dig it." We should keep in mind those predecessors who made great contributions to developing bilateral ties, cherish this friendship consistently, and inherit and flourish it in the new era.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Recently, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has made a successful visit to China as his maiden foreign trip after assuming office. China attached great importance to the visit, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and NPC Chairman Zhang Dejiang met and held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif respectively. The two sides engaged in friendly and constructive exchanges, expressed the strong will to continue to deepen China-Pakistan Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the new era. During the visit, China gave high standard of hospitality and made special arrangements so as to highlight the China-Pakistan special friendship. With the joint efforts of two sides, Prime Minister Sharif's visit achieved fruitful results.

The two sides issued the Common Vision for Deepening China-Pakistan Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the New Era, and signed eight cooperation agreements, covering inter-party contacts, academic exchanges, disaster management, capacity building and other fields. China supports Pakistani government's efforts in solving the energy shortage, and will deepen the energy cooperation with Pakistan. The two sides agreed to deepen financial cooperation, jointly implement the cooperation in the fields of agriculture, marine, aerospace, public health and education, promote exchange and cooperation between the two militaries, and celebrate the year of 2015 as "China-Pakistan Friendship Exchange Year".

One of the most important achievements of this visit is to build China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The two sides have set up the Joint Cooperation Committee on the Long-Term Plan for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and will jointly plan and construct this Corridor through the whole Pakistan. The two sides pay more attention to the pivot projects of the transportation infrastructure and the economic zones along the corridor, which will organically combine China's "Opening up to the West" policy together with Pakistan's blueprint for national development. It will also convey to the outside the positive signal that China and Pakistan will join hands and seek common development.

The Premiers of our two governments exchanged visits successfully within six weeks. It is pioneering in the history of bilateral exchanges between China and Pakistan. Through mutual visits, the two leaders have reached a series of important consensus. The visits raise a new upsurge in bilateral relations, and will further enhance the level of cooperation between our two countries. It will inject positive energy in promoting the stability and development in China, Pakistan and in this region.

Ladies and gentlemen,

China unswervingly follows the path of peaceful development, sticks to win-win strategy of opening up and are committed to enhancing friendship and cooperation in all fields with other countries on the basis of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. We insist on promoting friendship and partnership with our neighbors, and ensuring that China's development will bring more benefits to our neighbors.

I myself and all my colleagues of the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan will act in obedience to the important consensus reached by the leaders of two countries, seriously implement the outcomes of mutual visits, and make solid progress in cooperation in all fields.

The first is to promote friendly exchanges in all areas and at all levels. We will continue to strengthen high-level exchanges and strategic cooperation and share experience in developments of our nation. We will promote the contacts between political parties, parliaments, local governments, think tanks, youth and media, consolidate the basis of China-Pakistan friendship, and make China-Pakistan relations stronger, better and harder than steel.

The second is to transfer the sound political will into fruitful cooperation in all fields. We will take energy and infrastructure cooperation as a top priority, work on plan and development of China-Pakistan economic corridor, further enhance economic and trade cooperation. China supports Pakistan in enhancing self-development capacity, and is ready to work with Pakistan to scientifically plan and orderly push forward cooperative projects in various fields.

The third is to make efforts to maintain a sound cooperative environment. Chinese people are sincere friends of Pakistani people. Chinese corporations and citizens in Pakistan make great contribution to promote the bilateral pragmatic cooperation and development of Pakistan. We wish them a Salamat life and a smooth working environment in Pakistan, and we appreciate the efforts made by Pakistani side for this.

Ladies and gentlemen,

Pakistan is a great country with enormous potential and a bright future. We are proud of having Pakistan as our friend. We believe Pakistan will become strong and prosperous through a developing path catered to its national situation.

The Chinese people are currently committed to realizing "the Chinese dream" of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The Pakistani people are now working hard to achieve "Asian Tiger" dream of the revival of economy and the rapid development of Pakistan. So the two peoples share common dreams. The founding father of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam once said, "Only unified efforts can make dreams come true". Let's join our hands to enhance China-Pakistan traditional friendship, develop all-round cooperation, and move together to realize our magnificent dreams.
