Ambassador Yao Jing called on Imran Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf

On July 30th, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing called on Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Ambassador Yao said that China was happy to see the success of Pakistan general election, and extended heartfelt congratulations to Imran Khan, for PTI's winning. China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners, and the friendship and cooperation have won wholehearted supports from peoples of both sides. China appreciates the positive remarks recently made by PTI and Imran Khan and is willing to work together with the new government in promoting the bilateral relations to a new level. As China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is an important pilot project of the Belt and Road Initiative, China hopes that both countries could work hand in hand, and abide by the principle of jointly built through consultation to meet the interests of all, for better cooperation in the CPEC project and greater benefits for both peoples.

Imran Khan said, developing friendly ties with China is a national consensus in Pakistan. PTI gives top priority to relations with China and deeply admires China's achievements in its development. PTI pursues the notion of governing for the well-being of its people, and hopes that China will keep on supporting Pakistan’s economic and social development. Aiming to benefit its people, Pakistan is eager to learn China's experience in governance including anti-corruption, poverty alleviation, environmental protection and urbanization . PTI gives resolute supports to the Belt and Road Initiative and CPEC, and believes that the cooperation in the CPEC will offer significant opportunities to Pakistan. After the establishment of the new government, PTI will be looking forward to comprehensive cooperation with China in further promoting a prosporuous Pakistan-China relationship.
