(Yang Kai, Xinhua News Agency): At the important historical juncture marking the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations last year, Chinese President Xi Jinping solemnly put forward the Global Governance Initiative at the Tianjin Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which has received broad and positive responses from the international community. As this year marks the first anniversary of the Global Governance Initiative, how does Pakistan assess the progress and outcomes achieved so far? What specific measures have China and Pakistan taken to implement this initiative under the multilateral cooperation framework?

Spokesperson: The Global Governance Initiative, commonly known as GGI, is President Xi Jinping’s visionary initiative and a shining manifestation of Chinese wisdom. Since the launch of this landmark initiative last September, Pakistan has been at the forefront of supporting the GGI, describing it as a global public good that seeks to promote justice, equity, and inclusion in international relations. Multilateralism, with the United Nations at its core, is the central theme of the GGI. Nearly 160 countries and international organizations have expressed their support for the initiative, and more than 60 countries have joined the Group of Friends of Global Governance (GFGG). The International Organization for Mediation has commenced official operations, and the World Data Organization and World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO) have also been successfully established. These milestones fully demonstrate the strong vitality and appeal of this initiative, providing robust support for international peace, harmony, and development for all. We can already witness widespread international support for this initiative. Pakistan has always supported and actively implemented the Global Governance Initiative. Looking ahead, Pakistan stands ready to work with China and all other countries to make deeper and more substantive advances in implementing this initiative.
